June 18th – four Pilgrim walks at Mount Melleray Abbey, in beautiful woodland and in the shadow of the Knockmealdown Mountains. Booking at https://bit.ly/3acvQri
The event is run with the support of Melleray Mountain Meitheal and the Melleray Community Centre.
Proceeds from the event go to support the continued development of walking trails in the area.
The four walks available are:
Walk 1 : Melleray Grotto
Distance 4.5km
Ascent 120m
Walk 2 : Holy Year Cross and the Well
Distance 4.5km
Ascent 170m
Walk 3: The Source
Distance 10.5km
Ascent 200m
Walk 4 : Byrne’s Bridge via The Source
Distance 15 km
Ascent 400m
Please note:
All of these walks involve ascent on uneven terrain which can be rough and slippery in places. Please wear appropriate footwear such as hiking boots.
The ticket fee of €20 (plus booking fee) includes light refreshments.
